This is a great question.
Many people are concerned that phenol peels with either hurt during the peel or during the recovery.
We make every effort make ensure you are comofrtable both during and after the peel.
For segmental peels, such as lower eyelid wrinkles or wrinkles around the mouth we use nerve blocks to fully numb the area so you do not feel anything during the peel.
For full face phenol peels, we give you Twighlight Anesthesia so you are relaxed and comfortable. We also use local anesthesia to make sure that you do not feel anything during the peel.
During the recovery phase, we further providee you with medication that helps with pain and helps you to sleep well. This allows you to relax and heal as quickly as possible. Although, we find that most people rarely need pain medication and are quite comfortable in the days following the peel!

Aftercare is actually relatively simple and we provide you with all aftercare products that you will need.
During the first three days, you will apply a Bismuth ointment daily as well as lightly cleanse with special soaking toilettes.
During the latter part of the week you will use a silver ion balm that soothes and protects the skin as the old skin starts to come off and new skin takes its place.
We provide you with highly detailed aftercare guides so that you are fully prepared to take care of your phenol peel at home.

Phenol peels are extremely safe when performed over 1+ hours of time, which allows time for the body to process phenol. When performed slowly over a one hour time period, cardiac arrhythmias are nearly fully preventable.

When traveling to Austin, we will help you coordinate the timing and which hotel to stay at.
For segmental peels, such as around the eyes and around the mouth, you just need to stay in Austin for 1-2 days for follow up.
For full face peels, we ask that you stay in Austin for 7-10 days for full follow up.
We like to think of it as a mini-vacation where you can work from the hotel, spend some time fully relaxing, and see a little bit of a new city!
