What is Renuva?
Renuva is a treatment that, when injected, gradually replaces age-related fat loss with the body’s own fat. Renuva is safe and effective for volumizing the face, hands and body. It is also biocompatible agent comprised of the same growth factors, proteins and collagen found in your own fat – and contains the same regenerative components that exist in your own fat cells.
When Renuva is injected, it creates a honeycomb-like matrix that is then filled with the body’s own fat cells. Over the course of the three months post treatment Renuva dissolves and is eliminated by your body, leaving only your own fat cells exactly where you want them.
High Cheek Fat
Fat in the high cheek is where we get the “Apple” of the cheek, or “Chubby Cheeks” in children. This fat is called the Malar Fat Pad.
This fat pad does two things over time; it shrinks and it moves downwards. This combination of both becoming small and moving down creates the flatter and less youthful cheek, and also contributes to a tired looking under eye area.
By adding Renuva deep into this fat pad, you can restore volume where nature started with. This creates a deep support that restores that more youthful cheek!
Cheek Hollows
The Cheek Hollows are the sunken area between the cheek bone and the jawline. This is where a person can start to look “Gaunt” if they loose too much volume.
Renuva really excels in this area. When we replace fat just under the skin, a layer of fat produced that keeps the sides of the face full and plump. This area (along with the Temple) is one of the primary tell-tale signs of aging.
Some women prefer the high cheek bone look and when we fill the cheek hollows, sometimes this can make the cheek bone appear less sharp. If this is the case, we can place the Renuva farther back in the “pre-auricular” area as well as lower in the cheek to preserve the sharpness of the cheek bone.
Combining with Filler: Because Renuva takes several months to generate fat cells, we can place Radiesse dermal filler directly under the skin, which will provide an immediate filling effect to bridge the gap as we wait for Renuva to take effect.
Temples
When the Temples start to lose volume, it creates a depression that casts a deep shadow. This shadow is usually sharp, and can give a “Skeletal” look to the sides of the face.
The Temple has multiple layers, including thick muscle and tendons. We use Renuva to go underneath these structures and create a deep lift that is very natural looking.
In addition to re-volumizing, this allows the cheekbone to be contoured with makeup more naturally, and the hairline to be smoother. Overall, it is a very polished finish!

What areas can be treated with Renuva?
Renuva principally treats the high cheeks, cheek hollows and temples of the face.
Other areas include the hips, breast, decollete and nasolabial folds
How many treatments will I need?
The amount of Renuva used per treatment depends on the patient, the area being injected, and the final look the patient desires. On average, 1-2 treatments achieve the desired goals.
How much does Renuva cost?
Reunuva costs between $3,000 to $25,000 depending on the area and volume desired.

6cc-12cc: $800 per cc

How long does renuva last?
Results from Renuva last about 10 years, which is the natural lifespan of a fat cell. The actual Renuva honeycomb matrix will naturally dissolve over 3 months after it has finished the stimulation process.
How Does Renuva work on the hands?
Hands are the give-away for age, and Renuva works to counter thinning skin and the “See-Through” nature of hand aging. Often, volume loss on the hand allows the veins and tendons to be very noticeable. When Renuva fills the back of the hand with the patient’s own fat cells, this restores the plumper and less see-through look of the hands.
Is there any downtime or restrictions after Renuva?
There is almost no down-time with Renuva. We recommend mild restrictions for just 24 hours.
Avoid strenuous exercise or hot tubs.
Avoid wearing makeup (to let the poke holes from where we placed the Renuva heal)
Avoid massaging the area or sleeping in a way that constant pressure is applied to the area.
Does Renuva Hurt?
Not really! We use topical numbing cream to help with where we inject the skin or where we place the cannula. You will feel a quick poke, and other than that, the Renuva injection itself is painless.
Is there bruIsing or swelling?
Sometimes. We usually inject the upper cheek (malar fat pad), the cheek hollows and the temples. These areas are not known to be “high bruise potential”. However, as with all injections, we recommend planning on preparing for a bruise by having Arnica Gel ready. If there is a bruise, it should clear in one week.
How quickly do I see results?
Keep in mind, Renuva is intended to produce results for 8-10 years! You will start seeing results at about 3 months, which continue to get better until 6 months.
