The Contour TRL is the deepest laser skin resurfacing available (and second only to a Phenol-Croton Oil Peel). The Contour TRL is able to remove multiple layers of sun and age-related changes for true total resurfacing. This laser is widely known to remove deep peri-oral wrinkles (smokers lines), surface abnormalities, deep wrinkles, deep sun damage and more.

Deep Skin Resurfacing
When our goal is to correct deep lines and wrinkles or skin laxicity, only deep resurfacing will perform to the degree that we need it to.
With deep resurfacing, our goal is to fully ablate the top layer of the skin called the epidermis. The epidermis is where lines, wrinkles and sun damage live. By removing this layer, we expose the deep dermis where new skin cells are made. Only after this deep exposure can the skin regrow and remodel itself to be free from the imperfections that were on the surface.
The Contour TRL is so effective that this type of laser only has to be performed once every 5 years, and in some instances even longer!
Every deep resurfacing laser comes with a specialized aftercare routine designed by Young Pharmaceuticals in conjunction with Dr. Wambier, one of the world’s foremost experts on skin resurfacing and deep peels. Because the healing process goes through both a “Wet Phase” and a “Dry Phase” it is necessary to have two distinct phases of care afterwards. We provide you with a full 7+-day routine that will maximize both results and comfort.
This aftercare includes medicated soaks, silver ion gels, protective ointment, gentle cleanser and sun protection. With excellent aftercare and protection, your results will be the absolute best possible.

What can I expect during a Contour TRL Laser treatment?
This is the timeline you can expect on the day you get your Contour TRL treatment:
60 minutes prior to appointment: Arrive, get checked in, touch base with the treatment coordinator and start numbing with a topical cream called BLT (Bupivocaine, Lidocaine and Tetracaine).
Start of appointment: Meet with your provider to review the plan and aftercare instructions. Your provider will then clean off the topical numbing and add local nerve blocks.
During the laser: The laser “fires” squares and makes popping sounds. We have both a cooling device, called a Zimmer Chiller, Each one of these shots lasts 2 seconds which means we can go as fast or slow as you need. Areas around the mouth and eyes use much smaller shots to become more accurate. We find that going at a slow to moderate pace is just fine for most people.
After the laser: We apply a cooling biocellulose mask that you will go home with. We also provide a 7-day aftercare kit with instructions so that you will have everything you need for that week that you heal.
10-14 After: We will have you come back for a follow up to make sure healing is going as planned.
6-8 weeks After: If you are planning on a series of treatments, we will see you around two months after for the next one!
How many treatments will I need?
The great thing about Contour TRL is that it is a one-and-done treatment. Deep resurfacing is designed to fully remove damaged skin in a single treatment period. The only reason to have a second treatment would be if sun damage or wrinkles built up in subsequent years.
How much does Contour TRL cost?
Full Face: $2,500
Additional Area (Neck or Chest): $500 each
This includes all aftercare supplies and subsequent follow ups.
*Deep sedating is an additional $750
Is there any downtime or restrictions after laser resurfacing?
Restrictions are most important in the first 7 days of healing.
For days 1-3, you will need to stay indoors and follow all aftercare instructions provided. During this time, you can do light activity around the house. We will see you for a follow up on day 2 to check the skin and make sure everything is going well.
For days 4-7, you may be able to go outside for walks in the early morning and late evening or be outside in shade. We will often to a second follow up on day 4 to monitor and just make sure healing is as expected.
For days 7+, you can return to normal activities (including exercising and work) though the skin will be sensitive, so care should be taken.
All aftercare instructions are provided in detail, and all products are provided. We will also be keeping close track of you with daily pictures and follow ups.
Does the Contour TRL Hurt?
A critical part of this procedure is making sure you are as comfortable as possible. We always use strong topical anesthetic, oral pain and relaxing medications and finally local anesthetic nerve blocks.
We even have the option of doing the procedure under deep sedation, which some patients find to be very comforting!
If you do prefer to have the procedure under sedation, please check with our patient coordinator as this is available on select days of the month. Deep sedation is an additional $600 and is performed by board certified anesthesiologist during procedure days.
How quickly do I see results?
Around 7 days after the procedure you will see very smooth, fresh skin! This continues to improve over the next weeks and months as the skin rebuilds. You will see final results about 4-6 months after.
