BBL HEROic + Moxi Laser Combo
Deep Skin Renewal
What makes the BBL + Moxi laser combo so unique is the full-depth skin renewal, enhanced pigment clearing and elastin stimulation.
Full Depth Skin Renewal: The skin is about 700 microns thick (about 7 sheets of paper). The Moxi laser rejuvenates the top 100 microns and the BBL reaches the lower 200-700 microns. This is unique as many lasers are only able to affect a small portion of the skin thickness. By combining these treatments, we are able to rejuvenate all layers of the skin in one single session.
Enhanced Pigment Clearing: The BBL breaks up the pigment deep in the skin, which is then naturally removed from the skin over time. However, the Moxi has an additional effect of breaking up pigment in the top layers as well as creating an inflammatory response in the skin that further triggers the deeper pigment to come to the surface quicker and more efficiently. This synergistic effect of breaking up and then expelling the pigment is why the BBL + Moxi Combo laser has better pigment clearing than any single laser.
Elastin and Collagen Synthesis: Elastin is the component that gives your skin the “Bounce Back” or “Elastic” characteristics. These characteristics are more pronounced when you are young, and less pronounced with time. The Moxi triggers elastin in the top layers, and the BBL uses a specific filter (the 640S filter) to trigger elastin in deep layers. This elastin grows together, giving a nice, younger appearance to the skin!

CO2 + BBL HEROic: The results are amazing, there is no doubt about that. The CO2 laser has the ability to resurface the skin at both medium and deep levels where acne scars, deep wrinkles and years-old sun damage live. By combining this with the deep pigment clearing of the BBL HEROic, we can remove layers of sun damage and aging changes.
The most important consideration in this laser is the time it takes to heal and planning your lifestyle to consider this for about 7 days. Here is a breakdown of the healing process:
Day 1: The day of the laser, the skin appears red and feels warm. Keeping moisturizer and cool compresses on the skin make this very tolerable.
Day 2-3: The skin will develop a sheen to it and begin to feel tight. During this time, the skin is getting ready to peel but has not started yet.
Day 4-6: The latter part of the week is when the skin will be peeling. This will be in larger sheets that start around the nose and mouth and then move to the cheeks and forehead. During this time, it may feel a little itchy, which you can use hydrocortisone cream for.
Day 6-7: At the end of the week, the skin should be clearing up and have a nice, fresh pink color to it. This is when you can start introducing your normal skincare routine and light makeup.
I often recommend for patients to do this in the Fall and Spring time in order to have the most comfortable healing and also enjoy the results through the Holidays and into Spring! However, you can also do this treatment in the Summer time if your lifestyle is predominantly indoors.

Definitely not! We use strong numbing cream that lasts through the whole session. Combining two lasers together typically ads 20-30 minutes to the session, which is well within the time that the numbing cream is working.
