Testosterone Replacement

Testosterone Replacement made easy!

Dr. Winston Turnage

Testosterone replacement does not have to be difficult or confusing.

Here at Maui MedSpa, my goal is to get you a quick answer as to whether testosterone replacement therapy is right for you. And if it is, to get you back to feeling great as fast as I can.

Testosterone replacement has two simple steps:

1) Labwork: This is the most important step to determine if testosterone is right for you, and whether the injections or pellets are working correctly.

2) Testosterone Shots or Pellets: Once we determine that testosterone is right for you, then most men prefer receiving a shot once a week or pellets every 5 months.

Many men are having symptoms of low testosterone but don’t think they can get this easily checked!

I am excited to visit with you about testosterone and whether TRT may be right for you.

TEstosterone decline can be DISASTROUS…but we can help!

Low Energy: Having low testosterone can quickly bring down energy both in the body and the mind. This makes going through the day more difficult, exercise shows less results and your time with family and friends is less fulfilling.

Testosterone replacement can restore energy and a sense of well-being to all these areas.

Muscle Loss: Testosterone is key for muscle mass maintenance with age, and important for building muscle when on a workout regimen. When testosterone decreases, men find it more difficult to build or even maintain muscle mass.

Testosterone replacement can help maintain the muscle you already have, and help add muscle when restored to normal levels.

Declining Sex Drive: It is no secret that both sex drive and performance take a hit when testosterone drops beneath normal levels.

Testosterone replacement can dramatically increase libido and performance.

Low Concentration: Testosterone has a significant effect on your brain and often causes difficulty concentrating and lower focus on critical tasks. Not to mention clarity and memory take a hit.

Testosterone replacement improves your ability to maintain focus and concentration on tasks you want to be doing.

Mood Issues: Low testosterone can cause mood swings and lower mood in general.

Testosterone replacement enhances mood for many people.

Are you experiencing…

Testosterone injections vs. pellets

Traditionally, testosterone replacement was done through injections, skin patches, gels, and mouth patches. However, some of these delivery methods fall short in delivering quality consistency in the amount of hormone available to the body. Methods such as oral delivery involve the digestive system and liver, which can lead to side effects and inconsistent levels of hormone delivery, and the topical deliveries can be uncomfortable and inconvenient to use.

After careful consideration, we have chosen both weekly injections and pellets as the most consistent way to deliver testosterone. These two methods are easy for patients to work into their life routines and offer easily measured doses that are consistent and can be administered in the office or even at home.

All visits are with Dr. Turnage who understands men’s unique needs, and has treated thousands of men in the military and private clinic settings.

how much does testosterone therapy cost?

Testosterone Therapy Cost:

  • Injections: $249 per month, all labs and visits included.

  • Testosterone Pellets: $650 for a 5-month supply of pellets for men | $325 for a 4-month supply of pellets for women.

  • Initial consultation without treatment is complimentary.

We know how important it is to feel great and live a healthy life without feeling like keeping up with testosterone has to be confusing or difficult. This is why we bundle our prices for testosterone into one simple price for either injections or pellets.

FAQ

  • You will need initial blood work to start treatment. After that, you will need blood work at 6 weeks, 3 months, 6 months and 12 months.

  • For some men, as testosterone is increased to higher levels, the body may turn some of this testosterone into estrogen. This is a natural process but can be problematic if estrogen levels get too high. However, there is an easy solution to this in the form of an estrogen blocker pill you take after your weekly shot.

  • For some men, this does decrease sperm count. For this reason, we are very careful with men who may be interested in having children in their future life plans.

  • The only way to be sure if you are a candidate for testosterone therapy is to have your blood tested. A testosterone blood test will reveal if you have low testosterone, also known as “Low-T,” and therefore qualify for testosterone therapy.

  • Typically, in the first weeks of therapy our patients start to notice a difference such as better sleep, increased muscle definition, sharper concentration, increased libido, etc. Because low testosterone has such a dramatic negative impact on a man’s well being, replacing this to normal levels will have a dramatic positive benefit in a short amount of time.

  • There are a variety of side effects such as increased blood counts, decrease sperm count, acne, increased estrogen and others that we monitor for closely.
