What is Hyaluronic Acid?

In the body...

Hyaluronic acid is found naturally throughout the body, with the highest levels in the eyes, joints, and skin.

In the skin, hyaluronic acid attracts 1,000 times its weight in water, which allows the skin to become more hydrated.

As we age, the fat/muscles/bone/SKIN in our face begins to thin and there is slower production of hyaluronic acid. This hyaluronic acid decrease accompanied with volume loss leads to a sunken or sagging appearance of the face, fine lines/wrinkles, folds, and thinner lips.

Benefits of Hyaluronic Acid Serums

  1. Hydration: Attracting water externally and internally like a magnet helping to moisturize and hydrate the skin. Externally, attracting water molecules from the atmosphere and bringing to the outer layers of the skin. Internally, attracting water molecules deep in the skin and bringing them to the surface.

  2. Anti-Aging: The attraction of water molecules to needed areas of the skin help to plump the skin. This plumping and hydration helps create and youthful glow smoothing fine lines and wrinkles.

  3. Acne control: Whenever our skin becomes dry, our body produces more oil to compensate leading to breakouts. Hyaluronic Acid helps keep skin moisturized when needed leading to less oil production and less breakouts.

*Skin Tip: Hyaluronic Acid serums have a risk of evaporation. Therefore, always lock it into the skin with a sealing moisturizer. (example sealing ingredient: ceramides)
